High Wedges in High Grass

I purchased these Pierre Hardy wedges a couple years ago, and I am still in love with them. The large, oversized bows that tie above the foot always garner a multitude of compliments. Fashion should be playful and a joy to participate in, otherwise...what's the point of getting dressed?

Rainy Day [Video] - FIXED!!

It has been raining here nonstop since Tuesday. For this video venture, I actually cling wrapped my Canon...and shot this footage in the rain.
I love the rain - I'm just concerned about the Cherry Blossoms...I haven't had as much time with them as I would have liked. I hope they outlast this weather!

(Ps - how precious is Eloise?)
(PPS don't forget to enter my Shabby Apple dress giveaway!)

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Made in Italy

I have been bubbling over with excitement all weekend - and it is because of this dress. This last Thursday when I found it, I immediately fell in love with the colors, the print, the fabric and it's cut. And then I discovered something else...

Jason Wu for Target Dress

Well it sure took me a good minute to get this dress up on the blog, but I assure you that the time lapse reflects in no way my adoration of it. It's surprising how versatile this dress is - I've worn it open and unbuttoned over other dresses, I've worn it with sweaters on top. Here in the photos I actually layered two blazers (one sleeveless) to get a two-tone jacket feel. (Which I am loving and now want to do all the time.)

A subtle way of mixing prints

Stopping by a nearby field right before work to take outfit photos in the rain. The rain didn't last too long - as you can see the sun came out -it wanted to be in the photos too.  Wearing my favorite amber ring that a childhood friend gave me. One of my favorite things about my name is that people always assume that giving me my namesake in jewelry makes the perfect gift. (And they're right!)

Orange and Gold

Jumping on the bandwagon the the fun trends this season. I bought this gold eyeshadow by Bare Minerals (True Gold) a while ago, but before I was always trying to keep it "low key". Now, I just pack it on and let it shine through!
Every magazine is telling me that a bold orange-y lip is the "it" shade at the moment. For this lip color I blended what I already had: Maybelline's Color Sensational Very Cherry and MAC's Morange. A rather bold makeup look all together, but with the opulence that is this season, I think I'm right on track.

PS
Thanks for everyone's supportive comments on my FML post. Some of you felt bad for laughing - don't! I laughed too, that's why I shared it with you! I couldn't believe something so bad, so painful, and just so ridiculous could happen and not be scripted.

FML

Saturday afternoon was pleasant: I had spent the day with my best friend Megan taking Amberie look-book photos, and then the two of us along with my boyfriend had gone out for some local Puerto Rican food. Saturday night had ended innocently enough: after dinner it was the usual routine of my boyfriend playing Starcraft, and I watching Saturday Night Live long enough to get to the Weekend Update (Sorry Lindsay - even with you, it will always be about Seth Meyers). Then I went to bed.

Or so I thought.

Smart is Sexy Sunday's: Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist who commutes to her studio every morning from her home, which just so happens to be a mental institution. She was an artist at large in the 1950's and 1960's, partying with Andy Warhol, and counted Georgia O’Keeffe amongst her friends. She put on "Nude Parties" in the middle of Manhattan, in which she would paint thousands of tiny circles on naked models. She once held an impromptu sale of her art outside of the MoMA. While some commentators might call the 82 year old polka dot obsessed, she would correct you. "Infinity" She would say. For Kusama the multiplicity of circles represents a never ending continuum.
