I don't know about you, but I am incredibly excited about the Oscars this weekend. I look forward to the awards show every year.

There is something about the red carpet, glamorous gowns, and golden statues which really bring out the kid in me. I feel like a little girl all over again, believing in fairy-tales and wishing the impossible was possible.

I think the fashion is my favorite part. So, in honor of the Oscars this weekend, I have decided to share some of my favorite gowns which have graced the red carpet at past Academy Award ceremonies. And I'm not talking the 90s here.

Lotus Beauty Bar

The Lotus Beauty Bar in downtown Santa Rosa is a small spa that packs one amazing (beautifying) punch. With high ceilings, robin's egg blue walls, and two serene ceramic koi that greet you from their water fountain home, one doesn't feel the size of the space when they enter: they feel relaxed. The large window lends to the ambiance, and serves as the main light source for their makeup application services - insuring a perfect application every time.

Alleviating the Funk

I have kept it no secret that I have been feeling down lately. Each morning when I wake up, I stare at my closet, hoping that it's going to produce some sort of miracle. I have been feeling trapped in my own closet: I feel like I am a 26 year old woman who somehow ended up with a 14 year old girls wardrobe. When I shop I feel so torn: I have designer taste, but a Forever 21 budget. And, if I were to be brutally honest with you I would tell you that I am embarrassed by that.

Admitting that was harder to swallow than those new fish oil pills I just started taking.

Last Saturday night my boyfriend and I attended SFFAMA / Fashion+TechSF 2nd Annual Geek Style Lounge. I was excited about some of the bloggers who were scheduled to be on the panel. Some of you may recognize Jenni of Going West. There was also Boyish.tv  and Mai of The Fashionist.

Jason Wu for Target

I may have gotten to Target nearly 2 hours after the Jason Wu collection debuted, but I was still able to try on the items I was interested in. Originally I had planned on picking up one of the tees (kitty cat wearing a big 'ol bow? Straight to the heart.), but darn it, I spotted a dress. I nearly broke down in tears at the cash register while leaving Target. It's not even 10am and I'm already giving away this much money? I mean, I really went in for cat litter.

Neon Pink & Red Lips

Lately I feel like I have been keeping this "funk" at bay. You know the feeling: trying to ignore the feeling that you are barely keeping your head above water...? That's sort of where I am. I'm bored. However I'm not one hundred percent sure what I'm bored of.

These gray overcast days of winter have me digging extra deep into my closet for inspiration. It seems that doubling up on everything was the answer for today's outfit.
