Hold Your Breath

My dear readers, I have a surprise for you.
But I cannot tell you what it is. It will be here around this weekend. Towards the end.
So, to tie you over, I give you: ERDEM MORALIOGLU!(Spring)

Note: I actually gasped when I saw this one (above). Love. My Fair Lady revisited, anyone?

I would wear this (all of them actually) in a heartbeat!

Personal favorite (above)

His use of orange makes me so happy. I see sunshine. And think of crumpets and tea.
If you cannot tell, I had the most difficult time editing the show down...All of his pieces are unbelievable. So romantic with layered lace and length, but then popping with bright color and fitted waists. This is big stuff readers: I have found someone I place on common ground with Alexander McQueen. Personal history in the making.

Eat Your Spinach!

After some research, I found a variation on the Lia Lintern Anna K coat; it's by Molly Spinach (her sister label). Check out the feathers! The Anna K still has my heart, but this one is so spunky, I love it. See a few other Molly Spinach designs below:

The coat above is quite interesting. The coat gets its color from being boiled in Ox blood. I've never heard of that before.
Below are some Erdem Moralioglu fall 2008 line. Yes, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but these dresses are just too stunning and colorful and fun not to be hosted. Feast your eyes on his wonderful concepts of form and color!

I'll host his spring 2009 line soon. It's lovely - you'll see!!

Lia Lintern

This coat has been popping up on several blogs (Miss Couturable is among them). I did a little research into the designer; Julia Lintern. She's pretty amazing; she owns two labels (which she of course deigns for) Molly Spinach, and Lia Lintern. She is also an aerospace engineer. Yes, that's right, aerospace engineer.
With that said, is this not one of the most stunning coats, ever? All of her coats are 100% cashmere, and lined in silk. How glorious!

Oui, c'est vrai

Hello, Kitty!

This past weekend was apparently MAC's launching of the Hello Kitty line. Here are a few photos of the event that I just so happened to stumble upon;
Look for my new posting on my NEW BOOTS! Aaaahh, so excited!!

Wear of the Day(s)

Below is the scarf that I wore yesterday. A coworker gave it to me a few years back. Some friend of hers was cleaning out her closet, and was going to throw it out. I actually took this scarf to Paris with me!

This is my outfit of the day. Nothing too special: I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning (even though I get 10 hrs of sleep every night...). Top and jeans: F21. Boots: Blondo (the most awesome things ever. Waterproof and leather, fuzzy and warm inside). Gold belt: Express.

Perfection

I don't think there are enough words to express how much I wish this was in my closet.

Yves Saint Laurent at the de Young

This weekend I had the joyous pleasure of visiting the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. I had been wanting to go since I heard that it was coming, but alas...
The collection is absolutely stunning. I was so upset I couldn't take photos. There was so much security that even phones were asked to be put away.
As some of you may know Laurent's favorite artist was Picasso. Laurent often made references to music and artists in his designs, often taking a representation of a piece (like Vincent van Gough's Irises) and placed them right on the jacket. He was one of the very first to do this. Which, is precisely why I was not able to understand all the hype with Louis Vuitton and the graffiti bags.
I of course dressed up for the event! You can see the picture of my outfit:Dress: American Apparel circular scarf I turned into a dress. Shoes: Michael Kors, Gloves: Ralf Lauren.

I wish so much that I could show you pictures of my favorite ensembles. I'll describe them:
1. Gray Wool swing dress w/ bow. 1960
2. Bright pink strapless evening gown, with sequined bird in flight about the neck (which holds up the dress)
3. Nymph wedding dress, made of floral buds, Spring Collection, 1998
4. Black and white polka dot bubble dress, 1992
5. Dress with lace backing (see above)

If you get a chance, please! Go! I must say, the show was curated incredibly well.

Speechless

I'm missing something. I know it. That is a jacket of wigs. On Diane von Furstenburg. In a leotard. And fishnets.

I'm going to go meditate upon this.

I mean, she designs this kind of wear:

Lazy Friday..So 80's!

I am so stupid. I Left my camera at school; so I can't post my awesome photos....for the entire weekend!
I supposed I could use my amazing Voager phone...ha!
This morning I'm watching For Keeps? With Molly Ringald. Aahh. Her wedding dress was to die for! Haha.

I think I'm going to have to go out on an adventure today; in heels.

The It Color

I apologize for the uncharacteristic "labeling" of the photos. I have heard horror stories from the likes of Stephanie at Polish Addict, and Scrangie of people stealing their photos. This is OPI's "The It Color". I love it! I bought both this and "Do You Lilac It?" together, trying to add some "Spring" to my wardrobe. The top photo is the closest to the actual color. It's from the Mod collection. It's not a bright yellow, and there isn't any shimmer. I actually discovered that it's the exact same color as Neosporin yellow (on the tube). I'm a fan!

Birds in Flight

I am so excited about the dress that came in the mail today!
As you know, I have been working in Illustrator trying to come up with some wall paper designs. Well, this dress reminded me Japanese prints; only wearable. Its not Japanese, but I still think think that the dress is stunning.

I also got carried away with the pictures.
