My Christmas Gift (early)

I'm starting to get eager seeing all those bags by the tree with the tissue spilling over and out.
So, to distract myself, I decided to buy myself a gift! A Michael Kors coat I have been eying. It is so soft!

Also, the outfit under: Today was my last day as an intern, and conveniently, along the office holiday party. You can't tell, but the top has a bit of iridescent woven in it; Worthington (hehe) Skirt; Marshall's find (no label), Tights; Target, Platform ankle boots; Michael Kors. You'll never believe this: it (only) took me 30 minutes to straighten my hair!

While I'm on the subject...

What more could a girl ask for? During the winter months, my clothing tends to go a lot brighter. The weather is gray, the ground is muddy, it cold and my nose is red. I say, brighten the day up with bright colors! I think Betsey Johnson got my memo.
Just another reason why I love her designs.
Thank you so much Martha for pointing me to these! I love them!

Tights

First off, I would like to say that I am a little bummed to the fact that I was not able to blog about this first. But I do offer a slightly different stance.

I love tights. I own your basic solid black, 3 different shades of pink, navy blue, tan with flecked gold, blue, and purple. I've got footless, lowrise, and wool. And, strangely enough, only the black ones have been bought here in the US. All others come from London.

So, in staying true to my tight-buying tradition, I humbly introduce you to Look from London tights.
I am in love with these tights!! They are absolutely stunning. I know where this weeks paycheck is going; London! Pair with a mobious scarf, and I'm set. Just think of all the outfits that could go from "good" to "wonderful" with these tights!

Bubbled Over

I got the job.

(!)

I'm sorry. I'm still in a state of shock.

My own show. My own show reporting fashion/trends. I've been given full creative responsibility.

I'm going to start on my scripts.

Feeling bubbly

I just received an e-mail, with the date of my interview (tomorrow morning)!

So, I am now off to tweak my eyebrows and study para la prueba de espanol tambien (it's oral!). All at the same time.

I love multitasking.

If I get the job, I'll let you know what it is!

Coming to a Close

Oh, I am so sad this week.

This is my second to last week for both my internships! I can't believe that this week is almost half over! Soon, my last day of my internship will be here.

As an intern under the Historian and Exhibitions Curator, I have learned a lot. Mind you a good chunk of my internship was spent filing away on the computer, I have also gotten to do some pretty amazing things. One of my favorite memories is Erik (my boss) walking up to me and saying "So, we're going to need an 18th century Spanish style saddle for the exhibit. Can you see if you can find one?" and hands me a phonebook.

I found one. Yes! That's right, I found one. Not only did I find one, I found an original; and got it on loan at no extra cost. I called one number, which led to the jotting down of three, which led to...well the rest is history. While doing so I also got an invitation to an "invitation only" museum, made friends with an auctioneer (for future exhibits) and a private collector who owned the saddle.

I have gotten to shift through the personal history of people that I have never met; slowly going through the papers and files, trying to piece their lives together, for other to view. You learn to develop a strong respect; what if this had been your grandmother? A great aunt that had been forgotten? You get so involved in their lives (plus I got to wear gloves while going through the stuff, and that always makes me feel cool).

My internship at the fashion PR company isn't technically over. There's a HUGE legendary biannual fashion trade show that I may be attending in the next couple of months with my boss. Also, there is the annual fashion show/charity event (remember? My internship started right after their first one) that will be held in May that I will be participating with. I'm in charge of the fashion show, and am one of the models! (Not quite sure how I will handle those two, at the same time.) So the good news is that I don't have to say goodbye quite yet. (My museum office below)These past six months I have learned so much. I have learned to pick up the phone and say "Hi, my name is Amber, and we would like Rosario Dawson to participate in our annual Piensa Mas Alla event" and then calmly say "OK great" when she says yes. I have been a backstage assistant/stylist for midnight fashion shows in San Francisco, while teetering in 4.5 inch heels. Ihave designed shirts for my boss. I have been holed up in messy curatorial offices for hours. Hammered my nails, while posting up the identification cards for 150 year old pieces of local art.

It's been great.

Also, I've got an interview for quite possibly the most exciting thing yet.

Wen

This is Holy Grail, ladies. I, who have been a devoted servant of Kerastase for over 5 years now, have discovered Wen. It was given to me as a gift. I must say that I was a bit skeptical... However, my hair has spoken.

It's a Good Hair Day

Ladies, I have finally made my coveted purchase of the ghd iv hairstyler.

The hype is true; heats up in 30 seconds (well 28, I timed it), it curls, leaves hair with body...and shiny of course! Travel? This universal voltage tool can travel with you! The floating plates are amazing; no need to press the life out of your hair. And, should the iron get too hot, it turns off. Genius.
Next large purchase to save up for?

The perfect - and I mean perfect red coat.

Happy Holidays!!
