Thankful

Traveling to Lake Tahoe, creating my 95.9% first all homecooked Thanksgiving meal (by yours truly; turkey not included), and the gift of Coco CHANEL parfum? Yes, there is much to be to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving my dear readers!!

PS Is anyone else getting up at 4am for the shopping mayhem?

My HG of Nail

My dear readers,
Have you ever searched for the perfect nail color, but in its stead, settled for something that was "almost perfect, but not quite"?* Ever wanted to test OPI vs Essie, but shooed away by sales ladies? Irritated by uneven nail polish, but no idea how to fix it?

Look no more!
I have found the HG (holy grail for you non MUA users) of all nail polish perfectionists and enthusiasts. Readers, meet Stephanie. She has proved to be quite possibly the most knowledgeable in all things nail. I love her. I love her blog! She is so kind, friendly and answered all my questions that I have presented her with. Check her out! You'll love her.

A few of my favorite things

Beautiful blues, grace, milkmaid braids, fanciful cupcakes, gray nails and swing coats! What makes you happy?
(Badgley Mischka gown, Spring 2009)

Ralph

A few months ago fashion editors criticized Ralph Lauren, for being too "safe". However, I believe these pieces from his Spring '09 collection are absolutely stunning!

If by being "safe" editors meant "consistent" then by all means! Ralph Lauren has constantly brought nothing but stunning, classic and wearable pieces for as long as I can think back. His evening gowns are timeless, edgy and sophisticated all at the same time. You can wear his line when you're young, you can wear them in your 50's!

(looks like the metalics are here to stay!)

Torro! Torro!

I have such a crush on Benicio Del Torro!

My boyfriend knows that his position is unsecure when it comes to this man.

For Palomita's Piensa Mas Alla anual event, I have been talking with his management, trying to get him to participate and attend. Oooh, I want him there!!

Going with the Flow

I am loving these pieces from the Aquascutum collection! I want to snatch these items up this very moment, and then pair them with soft leather boots, and a fitted wool coat. As for the top shown below, I would wear as a dress, with a skinny red belt.

Blumarine RTW Spring 09

The collection that I am eying for the Spring collection of this season is Blumarine. Their balance between "cling" and "flo" is uncompromised. The collection gives an air of an effortless sexiness. I had such a difficult time deciding which dresses to pick for this article! For more eye candy and dream-worthy dresses, check out the entire collection at Style.com
This silver dress is the perfect blend of Greek Goddess and Hithcock's To Catch a Theif

I a lot of freeflowing fabrics and coral throughout this collection. Just a beauiful blend of organics.

I can see myself dressed in the grey number, heading off to a lunch date, and then going out with a couple of girlfriends for a night on the town. i would pair the dress with a pair of electric blue satin heels.
And, the Ombre beaded number? Holiday party. The gold beaded dress is so stunning, that I would tan just to wear it. The silk, the bead work, sparkle and satin, along with the beautiful fit and cling of the pieces is simply gorgeous this season. Blumarine has truly set the standard for the season. Great job!

By Grey, I've done it!

My search for the perfect shade of grey nail polish has finally come to an end.

Oh, it's beautiful. With one layer, it's sheer perfection, and at two layers it's exactly what I'm looking for. There's no ridiculous chunky sparkles, glitter, and it is not silver (so tired of "silver" being "grey". It's not!) I have been debating however, is it a true grey? It reminds me of mushrooms; Cream of Mushroom soup actually. Nonetheless, perfection.

Thank you O.P.I! The shade is "Moon Over Mumbai".
I Did try "Sheer Your Toys" which looked more purple; plus it had glitter. Ew.

Has anyone ever had a good experience with Essie? I can't seem to stand that stuff.

E. F. P.

I am elated, frustrated and proud.
I am elated.

Our generation has seen a lot; 9/11, War, and the presidential election of Barack Obama. I am so proud; proud of a chance at change, proud of nation that is willing to look at qualifications, determination and implementations of an 18 month plan, and proud that I have seen a woman run for president.

I am frustrated.

I had faith in my fellow Californians in knowing the "right" thing to do in regards to Prop 8. The concept that marriage some how would be gravely endangered by its passing is not only ridiculous, but ignorant. The elitist concept that marriage is available only to those who just so happen to have sexual attraction to opposite sex is arrogant. What happened to equality?

I am proud.
I am proud that 1/3 of voters this election were new voters. Men and women who have lived in this country all their lives, who never participated in their American duty to vote, finally did so. And? Out of that 1/3, nearly 2/3 were under 30. Ohio alone had 850,000 new registered voters.

Here's to living in times that have made history.

Twins Peak

I have been a fan of the Olsen twins for some time now. I feel like I have grown up watching them grow up. I have loved their personal style, secretly wishing that I could imitate it. Honestly, I have respect for these girls; Mary Kate interned under Anne Leibovitz! What's not to respect out that? Talk about the ultimate boss.
Their new book, Influence has hit the Amazon shelves, and I'm a little excited. It's not very often that in a world of large ego's and self adoration one will step aside and pay tribute to the ones who have created some form of influence.
But all heartwarming sentiments aside, I really just want to see the fashion. And the shoes.
